When we weave together, we weave together…

My day is filled with meetings so why do I feel so alone?

Professional isolation, siloing and overwhelm are common experiences for many health and welfare professionals.

Opportunities to connect with others and genuinely reflect on our experience, grieve our disappointments and celebrate all the small wins are often deprioritised.

When we do make time for reflective practice, it only takes one phone call for an unexpected crisis to scatter our best intentions.

Basket weaving for collective care is a safe reflective space outside of the clinical environment. Its existence is also an act of resistance to rhetoric around 'self care' that emphasises personal responsibility whilst overlooking unsafe work conditions and the importance of connecting with others to stay well.

Monthly Weaving workshops will be held on a Sunday Afternoon throughout 2022. Book your place via Eventbrite.

Culture and Ethics

Each participant is a custodian of the culture of the group. Your maturity, kindness and inclusivity is what will make this a supportive space for all.

It is a place to connect with like minded souls and practice self care in community.

This group is not a substitute for clinical supervision or peer supervision.

I teach basket weaving practices that are sustainable and can be continued using found and foraged materials. I do not promote techniques that require excessive consumption. Natural hand dyed, fair trade fibers are supplied for use in the group.

I do not teach Indigenous basket weaving practices. These are the intellectual property of Aboriginal women, refined over millennia. I am happy to refer you to master weavers who you can learn from and remunerate fairly.

This group is a delightful experiment and you are an important part of its creation. Your feedback, ideas and inspiration are gratefully received.
